HAWAII CRUISE

April, 2012

After San Francisco we flew to Hawaii for a stay on the Island of Oahu followed by a 7 day cruise. After spending two nights at the Waikiki Outrigger Hotel we joined the Norwegian Cruise Line ship Pride of America. The itinerary included the islands of Maui, Hawaii and Kauai.

The first port of call was Kahului Harbour, Maui where we visited an extinct volcano and swam in the warm waters of Kahekili Beach. The next island, Hawaii or Big Island included two ports of call, Hilo and Kona. We visited an active volcano but were disappointed as it was not very 'active'. We also got in some swimming, shopping and sightseeing. Our final port of call was Nawilwili Bay, Kauai. This Island is noted for its lush vegetation, scenic canyons and spectacular Napali coastline.

We had a busy and enjoyable week on the ship. When the ship returned to Honolulu we stayed for another 3 days of sightseeing before flying to Vancouver to visit Andrew and Kristie in the Seattle Area. While we really enjoyed this adventure, it was nice to return home and relax for a few days.
